We learned with profound shock and sadness that our colleague and friend Kevin McBride died on April 14, 2008. Kevin was a warm, engaging, and talented person. We will miss him greatly. Kevin has over 20 years of experience developing software in diverse
disciplines including operating system development, database, web
application development, embedded systems, networking and real-time.
Kevin has worked both as an employee and as a contractor for several major computer manufacturers including Digital, Compaq, Wang, Stratus and IBM.
In addition, Kevin has been a co-founder, partner or early employee
of several startup companies including a small ISP in New Hampshire that he ran from 1995 to 1998.

2006-2007. Consultant to Staples, Inc. Designed and implemented web applications for internal use by Staples' print ad agency to manage the complete lifecycle of multi-lingual catalog copy. Used Apache, PHP, MySQL, Perl, and Ajax.

2006. Consultant to Coyote Point Systems, Inc. Designed and implemented SNMP capabilities for the Equalizer family of load-balancing switches. Worked at all levels of the product internals from the embedded FreeBSD kernel to the web GUI.

Kevin enjoys spending time with his children, playing Scrabble with his wife, Malinda, reading, cooking, watching Sci-Fi, roller coasters, fishing, hunting, camping, boating, snorkeling, The Great Outdoors and roasting his own coffee.
He also enjoys building and maintaining the 1/24 scale slot cars that his son races competitively throughout the New England area.
