Systems Engineer, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Newport, Oregon. Alongside more traditional duties such as installing new spam filters, maintaining desktop computer security, and updating physical networking and power infrastructure, Kiel had the opportunity to bring live video from underwater cameras to local hospital waiting rooms.

Systems and Network Administrator, Backcountry.com, Park City, Utah. During a period of rapid growth, Kiel was critical in building out hardware, network, and infrastructure software capacity for much improved scalability. He enhanced network stability and security, automated builds of new servers, and improved the infrastructure for code promotion from development areas to the complex production environment.
