 The Situation

Backcountry.com is a highly successful independent retailer providing the full spectrum of products for moderate to extreme outdoor enthusiasts. As with most ecommerce retailers, Backcountry.com depended on customers with existing credit cards for all web purchases, offering little or no opportunity for customers wishing to purchase goods and pay through other means. In an effort to expand their base of potential customers, Backcountry.com decided to deploy the Bill Me Later payment option offered by I4 Commerce. Bill Me Later offers point-of-sale credit opportunities for customers who do not have, or do not wish to use, credit cards for web-based transactions.
 End Point's Solution

End Point has a long history working with Backcountry.com and has extensive expertise both in the Interchange application server, which is Backcountry.com's ecommerce platform, and in integrating new payment gateways into Interchange. End Point handled all the technical integration and development issues, providing the technical lead both for project development and as liaison to I4 Commerce. End Point developed both the roadmap for integration into Backcountry.com's existing architecture and the code to make it a reality.
 The Results

Bill Me Later now provides Backcountry.com with expanded opportunities to attract customers who cannot, or would rather not, use a credit card for their purchase online, or over the phone. Additionally, through programs from I4 Commerce, Backcountry.com now can offer attractive promotional financing, such as interest-free purchase periods of 90 days, to their customers through Bill Me Later that is simply unavailable to Backcountry.com through standard credit card purchases.
