The Situation
National Braille Press already had functions built into the site to allow customers to browse products in the product database. However, there was also a treasure trove of useful information contained with in the site's own content. The organization needed a fast, efficient search tool that could search these contents without tying up the database.

End Point's Solution
Search is "expensive" -- it can require an unusual amount of system resources to query the full database behind a website and render a result. This wasn't acceptable. So End Point's engineers came up with a solution to customize an existing third-party package and then integrate it into the NBP site. This new set-up would create its own index of the site's content and use that index to find searched-for information.

The Results

Since the new index lives outside of the main database, search queries don't have to use the main database and are lightning-fast. NBP's customers now have an effective tool to find what they're looking for on the site, without the overall site performance suffering.
