About Liquid Galaxy
End Point thanks Eugenia Loli-Queru for making this video and
Jason Holt for providing this great guided tour of Liquid Galaxy.
The reference implementation of Google Earth includes the following hardware components in a booth configuration:
- eight 1080p Samsung HD displays
- visualization cluster with eight powerful compute nodes
- a frame for mounting the displays and nodes
- printed panels to provide decorative exterior walls for the booth
- a 3DConnexion Space Navigator for navigating in the Galaxy
- a pedestal or stand for the 3DConnexion Space Navigator
Liquid Galaxy can be run with the publicly available Google Earth, Google Earth Pro, or Google Earth Enterprise clients. Custom Galaxies with a varying number of screens are also available.
Liquid Galaxies are on display at several prominent sites around the world, including the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.; The San Jose Tech Museum; and the @america exhibit in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Google has shown the Liquid Galaxy system at conferences around the world. It has a jaw-dropping impact, as you can see from the video tour above.
