Nick Alexander

Web developer

With End Point Since: 2011
Location: Orlando, Florida

Nick began working as a full-stack web developer in 2000, and he enjoys working through the interaction design of complex web-based systems to make our user experiences more joyful. He has also worked with location-based services and multitouch user interfaces.

His recent endeavors have been entrepreneurial, with a technical focus on Django development and JavaScript frameworks.

Worked as an independent contractor from 2008 - 2010 and founded Employant, PiccaDeal, and Zamination.

Constructed a multitouch UI for Deutsche Telekom T-Labs in 2007 for their proprietary spatialized audio hardware.

Received a Master's degree in Interaction Design from Umeå Institute of Design in 2007, and worked on research projects for Volvo, Whirlpool, and the Umeå Kommun. Built a location-based web service for Telia AB.

Web Developer at End Point from 2001 - 2005. Worked on e-commerce CMS for mid-size retailers, designed and built a loan analyst training system for S&P, and did Interchange development for a wide range of clients.

MA, Interaction Design, Umeå Institute of Design, Umeå, Sweden, 2007.

BS, Conceptual Systems, SUNY Buffalo, Buffalo, NY, 2001.

Nick endures the perpetual summer of Orlando, Florida, with his wife, daughter and westie. He likes to juggle and play the piano because both things make his daughter laugh.

He used to enjoy the downtown jazz scene, small theatre, international travel, and sound-art, but has like many new parents before him, settled into a more comfortable life of Friday pizza nights, stroller walks around the neighborhood, and pushing swings at the park.
