Sam is a developer whose specialties include Interchange (he has been a core team member since 2014), DevCamps, Perl Dancer, DBIx::Class, and Go.

Sam is also a Linux system administrator working with tools such as Docker, CoreOS, and Kubernetes. He is passionate about solving problems with open source solutions.

Chief Technical Officer, West Branch Angler Resort, Hancock, New York, 2010–2015. Developed Interchange 6 Perl Dancer application with Solr search, live ERP inventory synchronization, live shipping quotes, product variants, integrated with Braintree payment gateway and QuickBooks POS. Installed, maintained, and supported OpenVPN network, locally hosted servers running CentOS, Debian, and FreeBSD, Windows workstations and Samba domain controllers, and Aruba IAP access points over 20-acre campus with 30 buildings.

Sales Manager, West Branch Angler Resort, Hancock, New York, 2004–2010. Designed and deployed Interchange 5 ecommerce storefront and an internal MySQL database and system for managing inventory and purchase orders of retail store.

Web Developer and Systems Administrator, ExactaSphere Inc., Milford, Pennsylvania, 2002–2004. Created custom ecommerce solutions on the Interchange 5 and Miva Merchant platforms, and provided system administration and support for shared hosting customers.

Sam’s interests include contributing to the Interchange open source community and hacking on his Raspberry Pi. He also enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, snowboarding, fly fishing, and has a vast collection of urban art.
